Built by local builder Peter Tripp, the home has natural timbers and jarrah floors throughout. The octagonal living and dining room is the heart of it: high ceilings, picture windows running east around to west over the garden, a large wood heater and reverse cycle air conditioning. Sliding doors open onto the entertaining deck and the verandah that wraps around.

The kitchen sits under a cathedral ceiling with leadlight windows, custom cupboards, a built-in pantry, gas cooktop and electric oven. A north facing sunroom leads off it, which is where you will end up eating breakfast.
